Catholic Psychiatric Pastoral Carers Training Course

The Archdiocese of Brisbane has a Pastoral Care Ministry for people with a psychiatric illness:

Catholic Psychiatric Pastoral Care

An organanization now in its thirty first year, that seeks to immediately, and sensitively, respond to people with a mental illness by giving them access to trained pastoral carers whose ministry is both spiritual and therapeutic.

We are looking for Volunteers to be trained for this Ministry.

 

 

The Catholic Psychiatric Pastoral Care Team need mature committed Catholics with an ability to relate pastorally to those who are suffering a mental illness.  The training course is held at the Catholic Psychiatric Pastoral Care Centre each Wednesday from 3rd May to 22nd November from 9.00am to 3.30pm.  We require a voluntary commitment of eight hours per week on completion of the Course in the various ministries e.g. Day Centre, Hospitals and Hostels.
