Introduction to the Ministries

Catholic Psychiatric Pastoral Care has six ministries each of which will be described in the relevant sections: Catholic Companionship, Hospital Visitation, Prayer Ministry, Hostel Visitation, the Centre and the Office.

Catholic Companionship is held on Fridays and provides small faith and prayer support groups and a Mass. FRIDAY - CATHOLIC COMPANIONSHIP PROGRAMME
Pastoral Carers provide weekly visitation throughout the greater Brisbane area to all people who are in hospital with a mental illness.
Pastoral carers provide weekly visitation throughout the greater Brisbane area to people with a mental illness who live in hostel accommadation
The Prayer Ministry is made up of Priests and Religious Sisters and Brothers and they pray daily for all people who need their prayers.
The Centre is a welcoming, homely and relaxing place for people suffering from a mental illness. It provides a range of activities or people can simply rest quietly or chat casually with others.
The Office is the administrative focal point for Catholic Psychiatric Pastoral Care. It is located in the Centre and is open from 8.30am to 4.00pm.
